We are on the 6th month of the year and I've had only one post. Not quite a good run. As I recall, I enjoy blogging because it gives me a venue to express my thoughts. That's partly true. The other part of my satisfaction in blogging is knowing that I have friends reading my blogs.

Ever since microblogging (e.g., twitter) was born, my friends have completely abandoned blogging. Without people reading my blogs, I somehow lost the drive to blog.

Yet, I don't know why I have developed renewed interest in blogging.

Maybe the idea of letting my thoughts float around the web without assurance of anyone finding them allures me.

Maybe the thought of expressing my ideas without anyone contesting them or commenting on them somehow becomes a sort defense mechanism.

Maybe I am just letting these thoughts flow, with high hopes that SOMEONE will come to like or appreciate them.

Maybe there are thoughts that, for some reasons, I can not personally tell even the closest of my friends and the web, as well as all those connected to it, seems the friendliest "ear" I can find.

Maybe I have so many things I need to let out somehow after months of not blogging and not having a "listener."

Maybe, in this moment of being "lost," my blogs will act as a distress signal that will allow people who read them to help me find my way.

Maybe... Just maybe...

i am back..?

Three months. That's how long it's been since I posted something here. And believe me, I have been trying to write something. I have tried writing a poem or two. I have had new revelations and realizations this year and I tried putting them on (virtual) paper. I watched a movie courtesy of a friend two weeks ago and I also tried writing a review.

Maybe it's because I was trying hard to write something good - something to start the year with, something reflective of my relatively new life, something thought-provoking, something artistic, something scholarly, or even just something worth reading, that I had come up with nothing at all. Maybe blogging is not in me after all... Hmmm...

But then I remembered that blogging is not much about having people appreciate you or the way you write. It is more of being yourself, trying to put on paper (virtual, of course) parts of who you are, and maybe further discovering the person you have (and/or will) become.

I hope to regularly do this from now on. Maybe I'll post random but nevertheless iron-clad thoughts of mine here. So many things have already happened between this post and the last. I also hope to include them here...

Read a lot, write a little...

Many a times have I found my self staring at the computer screen and wanting to write something for my blog. So many things have already happened since I last posted something. So many thoughts have bounced around the ever expanding borders of my mind. So many words have gone unwritten.

It seems I am at a loss for words. And I can't write even a single decent paragraph.

Then I was suddenly dragged to a not so distant past. It was during my final summer term in college, when I had as one of my subjects something call EL 33 (English Language 33). The course is technically termed “Advanced Writing.” And my teacher was an old woman.

I thought she was so uncool. I was so occupied with wishful thinking I had a different teacher – somebody younger who can dance with the class's beat, that I never saw how good her ways were.

We spent a lot of time watching movies, listening to music, singing and reading; we seldom write. Her principle was simple:

Read, read, read (or watch movies and listen to music) a lot. Write a little.

I'm taking her advice and do a lot of reading. And I have realized there are a lot of good stuffs in books and life may be too short to enjoy all of them.

report, report

If you guys have noticed, I haven’t been frequenting my blog lately. The thing is that I had a report which is more than two weeks behind schedule. I had been working on it for the past days.

Finally, before leaving the office yesterday, I finished the paper. This morning, I submitted it to our client who was becoming quite anxious about it. They had been our client for quite some time now. I just hope my rather irresponsible slow action on the last job they had for us will not put a dent on the good relationship between our companies.

By the way, this report is on design and the first one of its scale where I did most of the work. And it will undoubtedly thrust me into more advance works in the field of hydrology. I’m quite excited.
